SCCM Push Install without being Domain Admin

What I did was put the SCCM site server in the local administrators of the client PC. This seemed to allow the client account to work.

  1. Receiveing "Fallback Status Point has not been specified" error.
MS documentation: As a security best practice on production networks, do not install the fallback status point on a site system server that is also running a management point role or any other site system role that accepts messages from client computers that require HTTPS communication.

Installed the FBS role on site server...

  2. Now, error that MP is not responding. Went to site server and noticed that MPmsi.log had errors stating that IIS "BITS support is not installed".

    Installed the BITS feature.
Verified that MP role was checked.

  3. Still, the agent is not installing.
Turned off the Win7 firewall, and install started.
I'll need to determine which port that is being blocked.

  4. It was the WMI port/ application access.

    Client Push Installation
In order to successfully use client push to install the Configuration Manager 2007 client, you must add the following as exceptions to the Windows Firewall:

    (a) File and Printer Sharing
    (b) Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
